Cleric urges Christians to be courageous to succeed
Reverend Maxwell Onyia of the Anglican Church of Ascension, Enugu, during his sermon, on Sunday, urged Christians to always be courageous and strong so as to succeed in life.
He said that the presence of God in one’s life would not stop challenges, rather, it would ensure victory at the end of the challenge one might be facing.
“The presence of God does not mean that we, as Christians, will not face opposition in life but with His presence, victory is sure.
“Be courageous, strong and determine to achieve success, do not give up when you fail but rather continue to try until you succeed.
“All you need to ask God is to give you grace to overcome temptation not that temptation should not come your way because as long as there is life, there will be temptations and challenges.
“In 2020, everyone desires a goal but one must be committed to achieving the goal that one has set for oneself by obeying the word of God and walking in His path,” he said.
According to him, as long as one stands in the way of righteousness and truth, there must be a way of escape in every challenge.
Onyia buttressed his sermon with the Holy Book from Psalm 23 and first Corinthians 10 verse 19.
