Coronavirus: Intensive fumigation of the State House, Buhari’s offices begins
Intensive fumigation of the State House has begun.
Fumigation experts arrived at the Villa at about 9.30 am to commence the exercise, which a source said would cover all the offices and environment of the Presidential Villa.
Findings indicated that as of 11.15 am, the experts were already in the main building housing the offices of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), the floors, corridors and major pathways.
“These people are not from Villa. They came from outside from the town (Abuja city). They are dressed in complete white overalls, masked and wear other protective gears.
“The dressing is similar to how the National Centre for Disease Control people wear their protective gears,” an official said a few minutes ago.
Recall that human traffic in and out of the Villa was scaled down beginning from Tuesday in a bid to address the raging Coronavirus pandemic, that had also infected some regime top officials.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari, the first confirmed Villa case, is already in quarantine.
Three of his aides also allegedly confirmed, though, till date, the Villa has yet to officially confirm Kyari’s Covid -19 status.
On Monday, Buhari himself tested negative, while Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo also turned in a negative test result on Wednesday.
Investigations showed that the Presidential Task Force on Covid -19 Pandemic headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, had asked all persons who came in direct contact with Kyari, to proceed on self-isolation.
The long list includes ministers, governors, other top political office holders and members of staff of the Villa.
