Couple die in okada, car accident in Ogun
A couple was on Saturday killed in an accident involving a Toyota Corolla and a Motorcycle around Kajola on Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway.
The couple was riding on a motorcycle when they were hit from behind leading to the loss of their lives .
The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps ,Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Sunday.
Akinbiyi explained that the accident occurred around 7:30 pm on Saturday and was caused by wrongful overtaking on the part of the driver of the Toyota Corolla car.
He noted that the officials on duty at the scene observed that the victims were a couple because they wore the same attire and believed to be coming from a party.
He said,
“The victims were riding on their motorcycle when they were hit by the Toyota corolla car whose registration number could not be ascertained.
“The suspected causes was wrongful overtaking on the part of the Corolla car driver that was facing Sagamu and collided with the couple’s bike that was moving towards Abeokuta at the diversion zone of the road.
” We learnt the driver of the car had a minor injury and has taken care of himself while the deceased victims’ body were deposited at the mortuary of Owode-Egba General Hospital.”
