Couple killed by armed robbers in front of their kids for burial March 7
The family of a couple shot dead by armed robbers in the presence of their three children have announced the burial arrangements for the deceased.
WuzupNigeria learned that Mr and Mrs Darlington Chinyere Uzoma will be buried on March 7, 2020, in Afikpo Ugwuegu Ubam.
A suspected armed robber, identified as Kingsley Emezue, and members of his gang were arrested by the Abia State Police Command for reportedly killing the couple.
The suspects are Enyinna Asiegbu, 25; Promise Sunday Obilor a.k.a Esere, 26; and Kingsley, popularly known as Pakins.
The Abia State Police Commissioner, Ene Okon, confirmed the arrests. He told journalists that the arrested suspects were connected to Sampson Iheukwumere Nwokocha a.k.a Grave, a notorious robber killed in December by the police.
According to report, the six-man gang on January 25, 2020, operating in a tricycle, snatched a Toyota Sienna van with registration number RBC477RL, along Health Center Road in World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia.
“The gang, while operating in a Sienna van, shot and killed a couple, Mr and Mrs Darlington Chinyere Uzoma, along Secretariat Road, Ogwurube Layout, Umuahia. This was after robbing them of proceeds of the day’s sales.”
He explained that the gang used the Sienna van “in shooting to death a couple, Mr and Mrs Darlington Chinyere Uzoma after robbing them of the proceeds of the days sales, along secretariat road Ogwurube layout Umuahia.
“The gang also robbed one Uwaeme Chinedu of a bag containing his personal effects, and had before the present operation robbed and shot one Basil Okechukwu of Obowo, Imo State, on January 16, around Post Office Umuahia while on transit with the money he withdrew from one of the commercial banks.”
