COVID-19: Ondo State Govt receives 3,000 units of threads for face masks

Akure, April 28, 2020, The Ondo State Government on Tuesday received no less than 3,000 units of multicolored polyester threads to be used for the production of face masks.

 

The donation was made to the committee set up by Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu saddled with the responsibility of engaging tailors across all the 18 local government areas of the state to sew face masks.

 

The face masks are expected to be worn by the residents of the state as part of measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Mr. Dunsin Oluwasuji, head of the Business Development Unit and Mr. Joshua Ajayi, Chief Financial Officer of Klick Konnect, presented the threads to Mr. Gani Mohammed, Head of the Committee on Tuesday in Akure.

 

Dunsin said that the threads were part of the corporate social responsibility initiatives of the investors and the management of the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub.

He said that the company had earlier donated 10,000 liters of ethanol for the manufacture of hand sanitizers and for the sanitization of Ondo State.

 

He said that the gesture was in support of the efforts of the state government to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

 

Dunsin said,  “Win-win textiles, alongside the investors of the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, through Klick Konnect Networks, Managers of the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub,  is donating 3, 000 units of high quality, multi-coloured polyester threads, in 30 packs.

“The donation of threads is in the first instance, and the donors will be reaching out  to the state government with more supports in due time.”

 

The  Head of the Committee, Mr. Gani Mohammed, expressed the gratitude of the state government, the committee members, the tailors being engaged and the people of Ondo State to the donors.
