COVID-19: Our leaders are wicked, CDA chair laments after receiving Lagos State stimulus package for his area [Photos]
The Chairman of a Community Development Association [CDA] in Alimosho LGA Area of Lagos State has lamented the poor stimulus package the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration is offering the state’s resident.
WuzupNigeria reports that the stimulus package became necessary following a lockdown of the state by the President, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, in a bid to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The CDA chair, Samuel O. Ajayi, who also doubles as a journalist, had erroneously thought the package meant for his area – which comprises of two streets – in Ayobo would be enough for the about 36 houses there.
He, however, got a shock when he received the package, which could not even feed a building in the area.
He explained his dilemma below,
Check the pictures below.
They are pictures of the Lagos State stimulus package for COVID-19. But hold your breadth: they are not for me nor my family.
Let me give you the background
I am the chairman of the Community Development Association, CDA, for my area. And my CDA consists of SIX streets.
I was about driving out to Ayobo, a Lagos suburb, to see a family friend and also, as a journalist, see how people were observing the stay-at-home order when I received a call that our stimulus package for CDA was ready.
I had to change to the car with bigger trunk expecting to carry a big consignment.
Well, the package for SIX streets in my CDA is what you see in those pictures.
Few days ago, I was called for another package. That time, it was SIX loaves of bread and TWENTY-FOUR eggs. They said it was from an elected political office holder at the federal level. I identified some old people and widows in each street and gave them.
My problem now is how do I share these FOUR bags among SIX streets with the street with least number of houses has EIGHTEEN houses!
Secondly, some people are aware that state package had arrived!
Am I not in trouble?
