COVID-19: Salon joins campaign against spread in Kwara
As the battle to contain the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues in Nigeria, a Unisex Salon in Ilorin, Kwara, has joined the campaign against the fight to win the war against the pandemic.
A visit to Fate Road of Ilorin on Saturday by a News Agency of Nigeria correspondent revealed that HairSense Salon had erected a billboard with an inscription: “Always Remember To Wash Your Hands, #StaySafe #StayHome.
The other side of the signage also carried another message with “Wear A Mask, Win The War”.
The salon, which is housed by the Palms Mall, Ilorin, had sensitized its customers earlier in the week.
It had enjoined them to stay outside the shop whenever they were not receiving any service as well as provided sanitizers for those coming in to receive services.
The owner of the salon, who is an entrepreneur, Mr. Ahmad Lawal, told reporters that the fight against the COVID-19 cannot be left alone to either the State or the Federal Government, hence the reason behind the sensitization.
“The virus does not discriminate against anyone, so we must all put hands together to fight it.
“We have directed our staff to start wearing face masks from Monday and they must not attend to anyone without a mask.
“Since we cannot identify anyone with the virus, we must encourage every to practice expert advice and government protocol to stop the spread of the virus,” Lawal said.
NAN recalls that the Kwara State Government on Friday announced that it had recorded three additional cases of the COVID-19.
The figure brought the number of confirmed index cases in the state to 14, with two patients treated and discharged.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 12.
The state government had also imposed a partial and later total lockdown/movement restrictions, in order to curtail the spread of the virus following the outbreak of the pandemic in the state a few weeks ago
