COVID-19: Shehu Sani blasts FG, says Naira Marley was arrested but parties are holding rallies
A former Kaduna state senator, Shehu Sani has raised concerns over the recent arrest and arraignment of Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley in relation to political rallies being held in the country.
Recall that Naira Marley was arrested and charged to court for flouting COVID-19 law on interstate travel ban by jetting from Lagos to hold a concert in Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja.
Also, political rallies have been held in Edo and Ogun states in recent weeks without a single arrest or prosecution of persons who coordinated or organized the campaigns as they violated the law on social distancing.
Reacting to the incidents, Sani asked if there is any justice as Naira Marley was arrested for a violation which political parties are also guilty of, yet no politician has been arrested.
“Where is Justice if Naira Marley can be arrested, tried and fined for violating the #COVIDー19 protocols while the Edo Political Campaigns rallies goes unchallenged by the law,by the @NCDCgov and by the PTF?” he said.
