COVID-19: Wife of Nigerian patient stranded abroad cry for help

The wife of Mas’ud Salisu, Mrs Sadiya Salisu, a Nigerian patient stranded in Egypt, has called for the Federal Government’s intervention to facilitate his return home.

Salisu, who travelled to Egypt for medical treatment was stranded due to flight restrictions occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wife of the patient, Sadiya made the call in an interview with newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday.

Salisu said her husband, who is a staff of one of the Federal Government agencies in Sokoto, had been in Egypt for the past 40-days, after completing his routine medical treatment.

She noted that her spouse and other Nigerians were affected by the restriction of flights and stranded in Egypt.

Salisu alleged that her husband alongside other stranded Nigerians had made contacts with the Nigerian Mission in Egypt, lamenting that their efforts proved abortive.

According to her, her husband is in dire condition in Egypt due to the present predicament.

While commending President Muhammadu Buhari and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, for the repatriation of Nigerians abroad, Salisu urged the government to extend the gesture to Nigerians stranded in Egypt and other countries.

Also commenting, a relative of the stranded patient, Habibu Malumfashi, disclosed that Salisu left the county through the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, after an arrangement with an Egyptian hospital for medical treatment.

Malumfashi said his brother and other stranded Nigerians in Egypt were hassled by the daily financial challenges.

”Many of the stranded persons are broke and incurred high hotel and hospital bills due to the prolonged stay in a foreign land,” he said.

Newsmen recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama had earlier said about 4, 000 Nigerians stranded abroad due to COVID-19 pandemic, are willing to return home.

A video making rounds online, shows the bride’s entrance, Chidera Daniella who got married to her best friend, Gian-Angelo Obi-Umahi, over the weekend at the RCCG, Kings’ court, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The lovely lady who shared videos and photographs on her social media page narrated how divine the event was as she could feel the presence of God at her wedding.

“An entrance I can never forget.

The spirit of the Lord descended on me and His Glory the room!
It definitely was beyond what I could have expected. All I can say is thank you Abba

At this point, I felt chains breaking and I was elevated to new heights. Literally started walking and the fire of God hit my belly.

I can’t wait for the whole video but the presence of God was so heavy the wedding did not feel empty. Guys, we literally heard the heavens roaring and angels in the room were worshiping and witnesses at the wedding”.

Afghanistan condemns rocket firing by Pakistani army on its soil

Afghanistan on Thursday strongly condemned an alleged rocket firing by the Pakistani army on its soil resulting in civilian casualties and damage to their houses.

In a statement released, the Foreign Ministry said the rockets were fired on eastern Kunar province, along a disputed border that Pakistan is fencing since mid-2017.

A police spokesman in the province said at least six civilians were killed and seven others, including women and children, were wounded in the rocket firings on Wednesday.

Two houses were also damaged.

“Afghan forces stationed there responded to the attacks,’’ the official added.

Kabul called on Islamabad to refrain from “unacceptable” artillery attacks and arbitrary installations, as it can cause further escalations between the two countries.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Islamabad has agreed to a ceasefire following diplomatic efforts, and a joint meeting will be held between security officials in the area.

The 2,430-kilometer-long Afghan-Pakistan border was created in 1893 between the then British India and the Emirate of Afghanistan.

Battles between neighboring states along the de facto border known as the Durand Line rarely occur, but relations are considered tense.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are in dispute over whether the border is officially recognized.

Wale Gates reacts to Rev Chris Okotie analyzing the Covid-19 vaccine (Video)

UK-based Nigerian comedian, Wale Gates has reacted to the video of Rev Chris Okotie analyzing the coronavirus pandemic, Bill Gates alleged involvement and effects of the vaccine to be created.

In the video, Chris Okotie can be heard saying;

“So he brings disease, sickness. They’ll create panic in the world. At this point, you’ve been asked to remain in your house because he must challenge God’s authority through fear.

“What Gates will do under the auspices of the UN is to make sure we no longer form the house of God. What Bill Gates is doing through his name is to stop people from congregating.

On COVID-19 vaccine which is projected to be ready for large-scale trial, Okotie insisted that it is a “red herring” meant to disguise the intentions that could cause death on a large scale and turn humans to vampire who will be bloodthirsty.
