Another milestone: Cristiano Ronaldo is first person to hit 200 million followers on Instagram

Cristiano Ronaldo has reached 200 million followers on Instagram.

The soccer star became the first person in the world to reach 200 million followers on Instagram and announced the milestone with a photo montage on Wednesday.

The Juventus forward beat out, well, everyone for the mark. He stands at around 200.2 million followers. The only account he trails is Instagram itself, which has 330.5 million as of Wednesday.

Singer Ariana Grande is third, per Brand Watch, and still has some ground to cover to reach Ronaldo. She has 173.1 million.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the second-highest athlete with 170.1 million, though he doesn’t currently compete and could be considered an athlete/actor hybrid.

Lionel Messi of Barcelona ranks eighth with 141.8 million and Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar is 10th at 132.6 million.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’or winner, makes an estimated $47.8 million per year, according Buzz Bingo. His soccer salary? It’s estimated at $34 million a year. Each paid post on his Instagram account makes nearly $1 million, Forbes reports.

Messi has the second-highest Instagram income at $23.3 million, per Forbes.

Ronaldo is also the most liked athlete on Facebook with around 122.3 million likes on the site and 124.4 million followers.
