Dayo Adewole: Police recover vehicle used to kidnap former health minister’s son
The police on Wednesday said that the vehicle which was used to kidnap Mr. Dayo Adewole, son of the immediate past Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has been recovered.
Dayo was said to have been kidnapped around 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
It was, however, gathered on Wednesday that the military, the police, security agents and local hunters were already on the trail of the kidnappers as at the time of filing this report.
Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, while reacting, maintained that the vehicle which was used to kidnap the victim has since been recovered.
Fadeyi, who insisted that the command is currently working to ensure the release of the kidnapped victim, added that the police in conjunction with other security agencies had recovered the vehicle.
“The vehicle which was used to kidnap the victim has been recovered. We have recovered the police which was used by the hoodlums to kidnap the victim,” he said.
“Yes, we had the report that he was kidnapped. The report was sent to me that he was kidnapped about 6.30 pm on Tuesday. The Area commander in Moniya and other patrol teams had been alerted and are presently giving the armed men, a hot chase.
“We are on their trail as I speak with you and more deployments had been made to rescue the guy and track down the abductors.
“That some hoodlums kidnapped son of a former minister. And immediately the area commander went to Iroko in search of the hoodlums.
“The Area Commander went to Iroko and with our men, they chased the hoodlums and the vehicle which was used has been recovered.
“So, I can tell you that the command is seriously working had to ensure his release.
“I can assure you that we are working to ensure that the victim is released.”
