Deji Adeyanju has apologised for criticising Nnamdi Kanu – Fani-Kayode
Peoples Democratic Party’s chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, says activist Deji Adeyanju has apologised to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for his criticisms.
Mr Adeyanju was among members of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) who were attacked on Monday while protesting for the release of the convener of RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore.
Adeyanju and others were protesting peacefully at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) when they were attacked by suspected thugs.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Mr Fani-Kayode said he could confirm that Adeyanju regretted his comments about Mr Kanu and that Kanu had forgiven him.
“I can confirm that @adeyanjudeji has expressed his regrets about all he said about @MaziNnamdiKanu & @MaziNnamdiKanu has forgiven him. The bridge has been built and the matter settled. Now is the time for the righteous to unite and oppose the tyranny that has gripped our land,” he said.
Fani-Kayode had earlier said that he spoke with Adeyanju who confirmed that he was beaten into unconsciousness.
Adeyanju was hospitalised after the attack on Monday.
Hours before the protest, Adeyanju tweeted saying they were getting ready for the exercise to demand the release of Sowore, a Cross River-based journalist, Agba Jalingo among others.
I can confirm that @adeyanjudeji has expressed his regrets about all he said about @MaziNnamdiKanu & @MaziNnamdiKanu has forgiven him. The bridge has been built and the matter settled. Now is the time for the righteous to unite and oppose the tyranny that has gripped our land.
