Deji Adeyanju released on bail
Deji Adeyanju, the convener of Concerned Nigerians movement, has been released on bail by a Kano State Magistrate Court.
Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode confirmed the news on his Twitter handle and said that Adeyanju was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties.
The court also ordered him to deposit his international passport.
Fani- Kayode on his Twitter page wrote: “Great news that Adeyanju Deji has been granted bail after spending over 60 days in a Kano prison simply because he spoke truth to power. We give thanks to God.
“I am so proud of this deeply courageous and inspiring young man. Head bloodied but not bowed!”
Adeyanju had spent 63 days in prison before his release was granted on Monday.
WuzupNaija reports that Adeyanju was remanded in a Kano prison after he was rearrested and charged for culpable homicide by the Nigeria Police Force.
Deji was arrested over a case said to have been decided upon by the Kano State High Court in 2009.
