Delta: Pastor's wife, two months old baby who were detained by NDLEA officials have been released

Barely 24 hours after the video of a Delta state-based pastor identified as Kester Iyitor begging Nigerians to come to his aid over the alleged arrest of his wife and two-month-old baby went viral, the two arrested persons have been released.

It was earlier reported that a Nigerian pastor accused officials of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA of wrongfully detaining his wife and baby.

An update on what allegedly transpired between Mr Iyitor and his neighbour has been released by Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu who spearheaded the release of Iyitor.

”Today, we got informed of a nursing mother who was arrested alongside her two-month-old baby yesterday and slept in a cell.

Some cultists who trade on Indian Hemp (weed) planted their products (weed) in a pastor’s compound and tipped the NDLEA team that the pastor is in possession of weed which prompted them to invade the pastor’s house and on his absence, arrested his wife and TWO-MONTH old child and kept them in their custody since yesterday at NDLEA office, Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

Mother and child free from detention, pastor vindicated and suspects arrested for criminal false information and be charged to court as soon as the lockdown is over.

We want to thank the Vice Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Joe Ikenwe for his swift response and support.”
