Don Jazzy: I can proudly say I have 35 staff and I don’t owe salaries

Chief Executive officer of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy, has boldly declared that he is a man of honour who never owes his staff their salaries.

The outspoken social media influencer made this assertive statement via his Twitter handle.

He also revealed that he has 35 staff on his pay role adding that “not all your serious companies” can boast of that feat.

“No be say na mouth. I keep hearing entertainers are not serious blah blah blah.

“I can proudly say I have over 35 staffs and for 7 years of MAVIN. I never owe salary. Not all your serious companies can say that sha,” Don Jazzy wrote.

Mavin Records (also known as the Supreme Mavin Dynasty) was founded on May 8, 2012. The label’s inception came to fruition following the closure of Mo’ Hits Records, a record label owned by the aforementioned producer and D’banj.

The label is home to recording artists such as Korede Bello, Dr SID, D’Prince, Di’Ja, Johnny Drille, Poe, DNA Twins and Rema. The label also houses a roster of producers such as Jazzy himself, Altims and Baby Fresh.

In 2014, DJ Big N became the label’s official disc jockey. Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks and Iyanya were all formerly signed to the label.

On May 8, 2012, the label released its compilation album Solar Plexus. In January 2019, Mavin Records secured a multi-million dollar investment from Kupanda Holdings, a subsidiary of Kupanda Capital and TPG Growth.
