DRUG RELATED? Unknown gunmen shoot Nigerian man to death in the Philippines

The country is in mourning after another of its citizens was shot to death by unknown assailants in the Philippines.

According to online reports the Nigerian, one Didicus Ohaeri aka Udelo, was killed in broad daylight by motorcycle-riding gunmen around noon in Las Pinas City.

Ohaeri a resident of Bacoor, Cavite was shot at about 11:40 a.m. in front of Abenson Appliance Center in Pamplona 3, Alabang-Zapote Road.

The victim was immediately rushed to Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Piñas City for medical treatment but was declared dead around 12:32 p.m.

Las Piñas police chief Senior Supt. Marlon Balonglong told pressmen that the victim was sprayed with bullets while on board a Toyota Camry.

Balonglong noted that the Initial information gathered by police showed that the victim was out on bail after previously being charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 on Nov. 5, 2016.

While his friends and family mourn his death, investigators are looking into the possibility that the killing was drug-related.

Authorities are still conducting a follow-up investigation for the possible identification and apprehension of the suspects.
