Gunmen from a neighbouring town allegedly kill two persons and abducted five others in Ekoli Edda community in Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Police said the gunmen from neighbouring Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State were behind the attack.

The two border communities have been at war over a palm plantation on their border.

Police spokesperson Loveth Odah said the Commissioner of Police, Philip Maku, has sent a team of policemen and soldiers to the area to rescue the abducted persons.
