Gordons D'Berlusconi

Nigerian standup comedian, Gordons D’Berlusconi, has shared some Lagos wisdom with Londoners.

According to Gordons, a Londoner must learn tenacity, learn not to depend too much on technology and, lastly, understand that education does not teach prosperity.

Gordons, who during jokes jocularly refers to himself as the Comedy Berlusconi under the ODP political party (Osusu Democratic Party), said this at the end of his tour in the UK.

Speaking in a BBC Africa video, Gordons said,

Hello London. My name is Gordons and I’m here to tell you, you must learn this from a Lagosian…

Number one: You can learn tenacity. In spite of everything a Lagosian may have gone through we have learned how to focus. Stay with your vision, dream your dream and become someone.

Number two: Never depend totally on technology. Sometimes you have to be intuitive. I tell you the truth, you can put a Lagosian in the desert without a house address a Lagosian will find his way.

Education does not teach prosperity. A Lagosian who is a professor is broke. But a Lagosian who is an illiterate is the one employing the professors.

Finally, I would rather a Lagosian learned something from the Londoner. I came to this country for a long time now. I have not heard one car hoot. But in Lagos hooting is part of fundamental communication
