EFCC bursts ‘Yahoo Boys’ hideout in Ogun, arrests 32 [Photos]

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from the Ibadan zonal office on Thursday, arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The suspects arrested are aged between 15 and 39 years. It was gathered that they were arrested at Liberty Estate, Laderin area of Abeokuta, during an early morning sting operation.

Due to the timing, the suspects were taken by surprise when the EFCC operatives bursted their notorious havens in the ancient city. Some of the suspects hiding under the chairs were seen in the pictures being dragged out by EFCC operatives.

Six exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, several documents containing false pretenses and fetish objects were reportedly recovered from the suspected fraudsters during the operation.

14 of the suspects claimed to be undergraduates while 18 others said they are self-employed in various vocations.
