American singer and actor, John Legend, has made history by becoming the first black man to win the EGOTs – an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

Legend took home an Emmy at Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys for his role in NBC’s variety special “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

At 39, he also tied with Robert Lopez to become the youngest man to win all four major entertainment industry awards.

Celebrating his win, his wife, Chrissy Teigen, shared a video of her husband adding his brand new Emmy to his trophy wall.

After Legend climbs on a piano stool to place the award on the top shelf, Teigen declares, “Perfect.”

The 39-year-old award-winning singer also shared the good news on his IG page.

He wrote;

“Before tonight, only 12 people had won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony in competitive categories.

“Sirs Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and I joined that group when we won an Emmy for our production of their legendary show Jesus Christ Superstar.

“So happy to be part of this team. So honoured they trusted me to play Jesus Christ. So amazed to be in such rarefied air. #EGOT.”

John Legend has 10 Grammys to his belt, one Oscar for his original song for the Martin Luther King biopic “Selma,” and one Tony which he won just last year.
