Election materials: Armed military personnel guard Rivers CBN
Several military personnel have been deployed to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN’s) branch in Rivers state, to ensure maximum security for sensitive election materials kept at the bank.
The armed soldiers patrolled the bank/secretariat road, on Wednesday, to ensure that nothing ugly happened to the materials.
However, the exercise did not affect vehicular movements and other daily activities due to the location of the Rivers Secretariat which shares a boundary with the bank.
The election materials earlier delivered to the 23 local government areas in the state for the presidential and national assembly polls were returned and kept in CBN.
The rescheduled elections have been slated for Saturday 23rd February 2019.
