Elections: Where is the blood? Nigerians ask, as PDP claims soldier shot its member

PDP member shot dead

Nigerians on Twitter have questioned and lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over claims by the opposition party that officers of the Nigerian Army shot and killed its member in Rivers state while the presidential and National Assembly elections were ongoing.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari during the week said he had instructed Nigeria’s security and defence forces to be ruthless with anyone who decides to snatch ballot boxes during today’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

The PDP, in a tweet containing the picture of the alleged deceased man, via its official Twitter handle, @OfficialPDPNig, accused the Nigerian Army of shooting one Thywill Dabotubo of ward 10 in Abonema, in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state.

The party claimed that the late Dabotubo was performing his civic duties when he was shot dead by the officers.

Reacting to the post on Twitter, Nigerians said the picture posted by the PDP does not indicate the deceased was shot as there was no sign of blood on him.
