 Elizade University to begin postgraduate studies, distance learning

The Elizade University, situated in Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State has disclosed its plans to commence postgraduate studies and distance learning programmes.

The institution stated that the new programmes would kick off in the next academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor, of the university, Prof. Olukayode Amund stated this during the 8th matriculation ceremony of the institution where no fewer than 300 newly admitted students took the admission oath.

The vice-chancellor also revealed that two new faculties had been added to the existing ones towards the pursuit of becoming a globally competitive university,

“The university hopes to kick-start the postgraduate school, faculties of environmental design and management and pharmacy and the Distance Learning Centre by the next academic session.

“The university has continued to focus on her pursuit to becoming a globally competitive institution that produces entrepreneurial, innovative and ethical graduates as enshrined in our vision and mission: to produce graduates with the appropriate skills and knowledge for the development of the nation and global competitiveness.”

While addressing the over 300 new students, Amund admonished them to key into the mission and vision of the school, emphasizing that anti-social behaviours on the part of students will not be tolerated in the institution.

“I want to encourage you to face your academics squarely and not give any room to the devil. This university has maintained and will continue to maintain a zero tolerance for all anti-social behaviours such as cultism, examination malpractice, hooliganism, drug abuse, prostitution and such other vices.

“I urge you to be modest and decent in your dressing and approach to issues and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations enshrined in the students handbook of information.”
