#EnoughisEnough! Nigerians react as Lady claims herdsmen burnt her cassava farm
A Nigerian lady, identified as Aina Tolulope, has asked the federal government and other concerned bodies to curb the excesses of Fulani herdsmen after her cassava farm was reportedly burnt.
The lady took to her Twitter page, @Ainatolulope1, to recount how her cassava farm was also sadly invaded by the herdsmen cattle.

@Ainatolulope1 wrote on her Twitter page;
“I am deeply saddened by this terrible news this morning.
“A clients 10-hectare cassava farm which is due for harvest was set ablaze by some Fulani herdsmen who absconded on siting the flame.
“Its Dry season so any little fire will escalate voraciously.
“I didn’t want to talk about this but now I must, these herdsmen deliberately left their cattles to wander into my cassava farm on a Sunday night.
“The extent of damage I declare was devastation
“Not excluding the flood and heavy theft case I had to deal with in October.
“I know youths who faced similar ordeal this year
“Its one thing to say the youths are lazy, it’s another for them to be frustrated after hardwork& perseverance amongst the many challenges that already exist
“I still hold firmly to this cause but #EnoughisEnough
“I am not lazy neither are countless Nigerian youths in agribusiness also
#Agribusiness is not for the faint-hearted. This nonsense has to stop #EnoughisEnough
“#Africa needs #Nigeria youth involvement in #Agriculture. We cannot continue like this. @AfDB_Group @akin_adesina.”
Nigerians on Twitter have, however, proffered solutions to the herdsmen menace. Some also recounted similar incidences and called on the federal government to protect farmers from the pitiful onslaught from herdsmen and their cattle.
Meanwhile, the location of the farm was not mentioned.

I had them on my farm.. But lucky for me, I’m into palm oil and not ground crops.. We know the solutions. The truth is, we can’t continue feeling like second class while other ppl get away with evil things.

I can relate as I was a victim. My rice farm was grazed about this time in 2015 in Mbabun village,Agasha Guma LG,Benue State. The painful thing is that you can’t even get @PoliceNG to arrest them as they won’t answer you. Their impunity is solely on the basis of @MBuhari nepotism.

So sorry to hear this its a national issue that farmers might need to protest or even go on strike for maybe 2 seasons for government to take us serious …..In the interim insurance is key to salvage situations like this

When I told @IStandWithPMBu1 about this, he found every way to defend this wickedness…. people are suffering, there is no ROI, the herdsmen are deliberately making agriculture business difficult for farmers….imagine the debt incurred for all these loss. It is just so sad.

Vigilantes that have joined hands with them. Give those ones small change and they will just keep quiet.
