EPL: Watford hold Tottenham to goalless draw
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham were held to a goalless draw by Watford, who could have taken all three points had they not missed a second-half penalty.
Lucas Moura spurned the biggest chance of a fairly uneventful first half, his effort from close being saved well by Ben Foster.
Tempers threatened to boil over in the second half after a clash between Harry Winks and Abdoulaye Doucoure but Michael Oliver handled the situation well, booking both players.
Paulo Gazzaniga made a crucial save to deny Troy Deeney from the penalty spot after Jan Vertonghen handled in the area.
Both teams went in search of the winner but couldn’t find that all important goal.
