Ex-DG of Nigerian Stock Exchange, Oteh, elegantly curves Twitter user who wants her as sugar mummy
A former Director General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Arunma Oteh, is probably not familiar with the savagery and whimsical nature of Nigerians on social media.
Oteh who was the DG of SEC between January 2010 and 2015, was seen on Twitter this afternoon engaging and responding to bants from some Nigerians.
A Twitter user had tweeted his admiration for Oteh, declaring how he wished to have her as a sugar mummy.
Responding to the tweet, she wrote,
“Thanks for your acknowledgment. I am unable to be a sugar mummy as it is against my values”
Trust Nigerian Twitterati, her response has evoked series of other whimsical responses from them.
Another popular social media user and financial analyst, Feyi Fawehinmi, known for his occasional satirical tweets also replied Oteh’s tweet, saying:
“This is a bit hard to take as many of us still live in hope. Nevertheless, we respect your choice.”
She quoted Feyi’s tweet and wrote,
A pity that you & others seek 2trivialize an important issue such as extreme poverty. Our culture is also one of respect 4 others especially women & elders so please ponder how my tweets about extreme poverty can degenerate into someone wanting a sugar money or not. A real pity https://t.co/3hM8V3FMEs

The best mature response, I have read in a long while. I salute women, who inspire the next generation in positive ways. Posterity will remember you for good in your contributions to Nigeria and humanity.
