EX-SUPER EAGLES CAPTAIN! Kanu Nwankwo reacts to Arsene Wenger’s decision to leave Arsenal

Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, has joined other football lovers, fans across the globe to pour accolades on legendary Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, as he announces plans to leave the Emirate at the end of the season.

Kanu took to his Instagram account and shared an old picture of him and the Frenchman.

The former Super Eagles captain, who said Wenger is leaving big shoes for anyone to fill, noted that playing for Arsenal under the Frenchman was one of the best periods of his career.

The former Nigerian forward said playing with the club under Wenger, earned them two premierships, two FA cups as well as the opportunity to play with some of the best-assembled players that influenced millions of fans in Africa to support the club.

He wrote:

Big shoes for anyone to fill, playing for Arsenal under Arsene was one of the best period of my career, 2 premiership, 2 FA cups, The invincibles, playing with some of the best assembled players, influencing millions of fans in Africa to support this great club are some of the memories that come to fore today but above all the privilege to have played for a gentleman like Wenger is most cherished. ? ? ? ?

Kanu was a member of the Nigerian national team and later captained the Eagles for 16 years from 1994 until 2010.
