Family to refund N4.2m to man whose proposal their daughter turned down [Photo]

The social media space seems to be a different world entirely, full of fascinating stories, interesting conundrums, savage responses, wild stories, banters and many more that have made it a major source of succour for many millennials and adults alike.

A female Twitter user took to the micro-blogging site on Thursday to share what could best be described as another wild story emanating from the internet.

The lady narrated via her handle @elharsh how her friend may have just courted trouble and maybe appearing in Court soon for turning down the marriage proposal of a man who has been spending on her for about four years.

She said the enraged man has given the family of the lady a list of his spendings on the lady totaling over N4 million and is now asking for a refund.

@elharsh shared a picture of the long list on Twitter and added that the father of the lady has asked the disappointed lover to sue his daughter because it looks like he cannot afford the refund.

She tweeted:

“My friend refused to marry her boyfriend of 4 years. This guy made a list of everything he ever did for her.

“He demands that the family pay him 4.2m Her father said he should take her to Court.”

On the list, the man listed expended N1.9 million on clothes, shoes, bags, veils and long dresses.

He spent N200,000 on “Nagani Inaso”, a culture in the North which requires a man to pay some amount of money to the parents of a lady he has interest in.

He also expended N100,ooo on “Tambaya Sadaki” a certain amount of money paid to the parents of a lady to ask for her hand in marriage.

He also spent N225,000 on body cream.
