Fani-Kayode attacks Pastor Adeboye over mega-city auditorium the size of Ibadan [Twitter reacts]

Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s comments about when he would die have angered a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

Recall that the reverend man of God, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), had during the 2019 Holy Ghost Congress that ended last week said he was not going to die until he builds an auditorium as big as Ibadan.

“If anybody tells you Pastor Adeboye is dead, don’t believe them because God is going to build us the auditorium as big as Ibadan. Until that is done, I’m not going anywhere,” he said.

Fani-Kayode,  an ardent critic of the President, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari, in a tweet on Monday, said building that size of auditorium should not be the cleric’s priority.

“Sir, building a Church auditorium the size of Ibadan ought not to be your priority. Getting the tyrant out of power & breaking the evil yoke that you helped foist on Nigeria by supporting him in 2015 and 2019 ought to be your primary objective today. You owe Nigeria that much!” he said.

The former minister’s tweet had generated a lot of reaction with the many backing the minister and questioning Pastor Adeboye’s announcement about a mega-city auditorium.

The responsibilities of Making Nigeria a better place for all of us is not only the work of the govt but our collective hard work and determination. G O pls, forget building dat kind of church but rather invest the money in human and capacity building.

KING’S CROWN/@MrDipson:

He was called by God, He listens to God, God sets his priorities, so you don’t need to be concern sir. Baba glory and stripes isn’t disciplined to be chasing tyrants but to preach the gospel. I’m not even a Redeemer. Thanks

We need factories and industries where Nigerians can work and provide for their families. In the midst of members suffering of no job, u want to build church as big as Ibadan. Jesus Christ can u see why I decide to be disobedient at times to our church leaders.

Chiemena Samuel/@ChiemenaS:

Thank you sir for saying the truth, I wonder how a pastor think of building a church as big as ibadan, on what benefit to Nigeria? You people are making Christianity more questionable.
I love him as a man of God but making this statement never read wisdom

Funny enough God gave us a warning & he instead guided us away from the warnings.

Now everybody in Nija is suffering

I’m not a member of RCCG but this is quite disrespectful.
I think the bible says respect all forms of authority. Like it or not, the votes of Nigerians put Buhari there and there’s nothing he can do about it until the tenure is over

@edwardbode:

Ibadan is the largest city in West Africa by land mass. Holy Spirit has sense, he can’t tell you to build that anywhere. Ask yourself a question, where are you going to get the land?

Abbey Babs/@AbbeyBabsp1:

So was said of the lands used to build the present redeem Camp (which is termed the largest now) when Adeboye took over. I hope you will be alive to witness if its possible or not Mr Holy spirit spokes person?

KINGSTECH/@kingstech10:

righteousness exchange for prosperity, truth exchange to lies, sin has blinded the eyes of Nigerians, may Elohim bless you for always saying the truth it might sound incredible to them, more church you build today more problems to this country,

patrioticcitizen/@Fadkem247:

He should at least call them out, so we know he’s not in support of this nonsense….. It seems Nigerian pastors often skip “1Samuel 15” because if they are acquianted with that chapter , they will know calling rulers out is part of their duties as servants of God

Nnaemeka De P/@Redmark01:

The day Nigerian and Africans will realize that devil doesn’t exist but poor government establishment and a bad system of govt is the evil the Africans battle the day freedom is imminent. If you preach that there’s evil somewhere not the government then you’re a benefactor of evil
