Fani-Kayode demands N10 billion from Sahara Reporters over defamation allegation

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has asked the publishers of Sahara Reporters online news platform to retract the untrue stories they published about him and his family within 14 days or face legal action.

He also asked the publishers of the news website to offer apologies to him on the website and two other national newspapers and enter into negotiation with his lawyers on the payment of N10 billion ‘as a token of penitence compared to the magnitude of the infraction caused’ to him.

Fani-Kayode made his position known in a letter sent to Sahara Reporters through his solicitors, DPC Attorneys and Solicitors.

In the letter dated January 6, 2018, the former minister threatened to take legal action not only in Nigeria but also in New York, telling the court that the platform is no longer fit to function within acceptable global best practices.
