In the wake of sexual allegations raised against late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, fans and some prominent personalities across the world have spoken up in his defense.

Ten years after his death, Jackson is being accused by James Safechuck and Wade Robson, in a new documentary titled “Leaving Neverland” featuring interviews with the two men, who claimed the King of Pop sexually abused them when they were kids.

Following the allegations and subsequent release of the documentary, some radio stations have banned the song of the late singer from being played on their stations, while his statue has also been removed from Britain’s National Football Museum.

Good Morning Britain presenter on ITV United Kingdom, Piers Morgan took to his Twitter page on Thursday to post tweets in Jackson’s defence, with a call on journalists to question the documentary and do more research on it before admitting it as the truth.

He wrote:

“Interesting to see so many journalists on here accept everything in #LeavingNeverland is true, without applying any questioning eye. The 2 accusers have changed their story multiple times & are suing Jackson’s estate for 100s of millions. At least be challenging, surely?”

Morgan added in a separate tweet:

“Michael Jackson was a very weird guy, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t apply the usual journalistic rigour to such serious allegations against him. Especially given he’s been dead for 10yrs & can’t respond to them.”
