Financial independence not automatic qualification for marriage – Olajide Tope

Published

Being financially independent does not automatically qualify you for marriage. There are many under toned qualities which you must unlock, Relationship Matchmaker, Olajide Tope aka Toplagy has noted.

Money is important, but you need more than money to have a healthy relationship.

Run away from anyone that’s trying to impress you with money by leveraging on it instead of their personalities.

As a matter of fact, the lists of the qualities of a potential marriage material is long, even to some people it is endless. If they are just using one (which is money) among other qualities to impress you, obviously that’s the only thing they can offer. Imagine someone that scores 1 out of 10. Is that not a failure?

How would you identify those in that category? It’s so simple to identify them.

  1. They only talk about their material possessions
  2. Their jobs, salaries etc.
  3. How they would take care of you financially
  4. How their ex is a loser and makes you feel like having them is a lottery prize
  5. They would ridicule your lifestyles and let you know how they would upgrade you if you can accept their proposal
  6. They would always make you feel inferior to them.
  7. Your opinion wouldn’t matter to them
  8. They wouldn’t talk about romance
  9. They will run away if they realized you are richer or on the same level as them
  10. They would try to lure (rush) you into marriage, believing they have all the material things you need. Forgetting they only score 1 out of the numerous other fine qualities you are looking for.

If your partner is the one who always emphasizes on their financial capacity or using that as the centre of attraction, please pay attention cos you will be downsized.
