Manchester United were humiliated in front of their fans at Old Trafford stadium on Saturday as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against their arch rivals, Mancester City.

Goals from City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho gave the Pep Guardiola’s side two goals lead before Zlatan Ibrahimovic reduced the deficit just before the break during a breathless first half.

The home defeat was coach Jose Mourinho’s first loss in four EPL matches since he joined Manchester United this season.

The Manchester derby defeat to United did not come as a surprise to many football pundits as the fixture had already been predicted to go either way following the array of stars on parade for both sides.

However, the shocking results in the EPL on Saturday were Liverpool 4-1 drubbing of reigning champions Leicester City at Anfield and Watford’s 4-2 away victory at West Ham.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane put Jurgen Klopp’s side two goals ahead as they played at home for the first time this season and for the first time since expanding Anfield’s capacity by 8,500 to 54,000.

Jamie Vardy reduced the deficit to a single goal after Lucas’s mistake. But Adam Lallana’s fine strike restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage and Firmino’s late effort wrapped up a worrying defeat for Leicester, who have won only one of their first four matches.
