Follow NCDC guidelines, IPAC tells Lagos residents
The Lagos State Inter-Party Advisory Council has advised residents of the state to follow the directive of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on social distancing and regular hand washing.
According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the council, Mr Tade Ademola, the group appealed to residents of the state to also obey the sit-at-home directive of the Federal and State Governments, noting that it will help to curb the spread of COVID-19.
“Political Parties must enlighten and inform their Local Government Area and ward officials to disseminate all government directives to their members for maximum compliance. We should not limit the spread of information to the urban areas alone; there must be continuous communication to the grassroots at least every other day, to monitor compliance.
“Water is critical to the virus containment, so areas without pipe-borne should be provided with a source of water,” Ademola said.
He also urged the Lagos State Government to set up a transparent welfare committee which will include all relevant stakeholders.
