A housewife, Mrs Fatimoh Bello, prayed an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos on Tuesday put an end to the marriage between her and husband, Yunusa, over threat to life and battery cited as the grounds for divorce.

“My lord, there is no more love in our marriage. I want the divorce.

“I have endured beatings and threat to my life from my husband of 24-years.

“I want the court to dissolve our marriage and let me have custody of our children because he is not a responsible man,’’ she pleaded.

Fatimoh said that Yinusa had also accused her of having extra-marital affairs with another man.

She told the court that due to the constant beating, she packed out of her matrimonial home.

However, Yunusa, in his response, denied the allegations made by Fatimoh.

The self- employed Yinusa, who resides on Bello Street, Agbede, Ikorodu, told the court that he was not against the divorce requested by his wife.

The President of the court, Mr Otun Olayiwola, adjourned the case until Nov. 29 for mention.
