The Lagos State Police have arrested a woman, Mrs. Darasimi Martins, for allegedly pouring hot water on her 16-year-old home help.

According to reports, Martins who resides at No. 16 Olomowewe Street, Mushim had on Monday sent her home help to buy six eggs.

The girl, however, came back with four eggs which angered her boss. The boss descended on her and bathed her with hot water, scalding her face and body.

Neighbours notified the Child Protection Network who, in turn, reported the incident to police officers attached to Olosan Division in Mushin.

Witnesses claimed the incident was one of several assaults the young girl had suffered from the woman.

Confirming the incident, police spokesman Chike Oti, a Chief Superintendent (CSP) said the case had been moved to the Gender Unit for further action.
