Former Ekiti SUBEB boss, Ola, returns to APC
A former Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education (EKSUBEB), Chief Bode Ola, has returned to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Ola, a former member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) left the party three years after he lost his senatorial ticket to Sen. Femi Kila.
After leaving the ACN, Ola had joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, with former Gov. Ayo Fayose appointing him as the SUBEB boss.
Ola, however, said he was not returning to APC because President Muhammadu Buhari had won a second term ticket.
He spoke at a news conference in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.
Ola, who described Fayemi as a listening leader, said the governor is committed to the development of the state and the welfare of the people.
“ When I left the ACN some years ago, it was because of the injustice done to me; it was clear at that time that they were not ready to protect the interest of all members.
“I am back now because the new leadership has promised to right all wrongs and avoid mistakes of the past.
“I am returning to my great beginning; I want to start all over again as one family,” he said.
He implored his supporters to forget the past and work toward the party ’s unity, assuring them that the party had promised equal opportunity for all.
The former SUBEB boss described the PDP as deceitful, adding that Fayose during his tenure was a “ sole administrator.’’
After reclaiming his mandate by a Court of Appeal judgment, Ola represented Ekiti Central Senatorial District on the platform of ACN between 2009 and 2011,
