FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT! David Mark joins PDP presidential race

A former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has joined the presidential race on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mark, who has been in the Senate since 1999, is expected to pick his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

The 70-year-old retired soldier was also a former Minister of communications under the regime of the military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.).

It was not clear why Mark, who was President of the Senate for two consecutive terms decided to join the race.

A source close to him told our correspondent in Abuja on Monday, that Mark would pick up his form at the PDP headquarters by 11 am on Tuesday.

“He has agreed to join the race. He’s picking his form tomorrow (Tuesday ) by 11 am,” the source added.
