The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four members of a notorious armed robbery in their hideouts.

The suspects Sukanmi Tajudeen, Habeeb Oladimeji, Sunday Akintunde, and Ishola Samson were reported to have been terrorising Mowe/Ofada areas in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Monday in a statement.

Oyeyemi said the suspects had been on the wanted list of the police command before their eventual arrest.

The PPRO said,

“The suspects were arrested following an intelligence report received by men of Special Anti-Robbery Squad about the hideout of the gang at Adesan area of Mowe.

“On getting the report, the officer-in-charge of SARS Csp Tijani Muhammed dispatched his operatives to the area and the hideout was professionally cordoned off for an operation which lasted for about an hour.

“At the end of the operation, the four suspects were apprehended while some members of the gang escaped through the nearby bush.”

Oyeyemi added that some dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects after the operation.

He said the recovered items are: one locally made triplet barrel pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, thirteen live cartridges and one Bajaj motorcycle.

The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson praised the gallantry displayed of his men.

Oyeyemi said the Police boss has ordered a serious manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang and equally ordered a total clampdown on armed bandits across the State in order to give the good people of the gateway state the needed rest of mind.
