Nigerian gay cleric, Revered Jide Macaulay of the House of Rainbow Church has stated that gay is the acronym for God Adores You.

He made the statement in a video he posted on his YouTube Channel as he joins the LGBT community in the celebration of the Gay Pride Month.

In the video, the man of God could be heard giving different meanings to the word gay, part of which was God Appreciates You, God Anoints You.

The man of God, also in the video, revealed the struggles he encountered growing up in a Christain home and how he eventually discovered himself.

He wrote on his Instagram page:

GAY means God Adores You. Let’s celebrate Pride month with all of our queerness, blackness and faith in God.

He also revealed that he was once married to a woman, but had to divorce her on the quest to discover himself.

He then went further to talk about the challenges he faced locating a Christian community, as a black man in the United Kingdom, before finally founding his Church, House of Rainbow, which he said has been a kind of shelter providing support and succour to members of the LGBT community in England.
