MEMORY! Gowon and late Tokida saved my father’s life in 1966, says Fani-Kayode

The former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Tuesday disclosed that late Captain S.G. Tokida and former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon saved his father’s live.

The former Minister made the disclosure when he shared a picture of himself and General Gowon on his Twitter account few minutes ago after boarding the same aircraft today.

Fani-Kayode revealed that the senior Army officers saved the life of his father on the night of January, 15th 1966 when junior officers carried out a military coup.

The former Minister who described General Gowon as “a perfect gentleman” noted that it was a pleasure to fly on the same aircraft with the former Head of State. He said that it was obligatory for him to always thank General Gowon whenever he sees him.

‏Fani-Koyode wrote,

Pleasure to fly with former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon today. A perfect gentleman. He and the late Captain S.G. Tokida saved my father’s life on the night of Jan. 15th 1966 when the junior officers coup took place. I thank him for that whenever see him. I did so again today!
