Gunmen abduct mother of Super Eagles’ midfielder, Samuel Kalu, demand N50m ransom
Unknown gunmen have abducted the mother of Super Eagles’ midfielder, Samuel Kalu, and demanded N50m as ransom.
Reports said Mrs. Kalu was driving with some of her children along the Okpulu Umuobo area of Aba, Abia State when her abductors intercepted her vehicle.
They were said to have ordered the children out of the car and took the player’s mother away.
According to The Guardian, a source close to the family said the kidnappers initially demanded N50 million ransom.
They, however, increased their demands as they believe they would get more from the Girondins Bordeaux star.
It was further gathered that the family had been in negotiation with the kidnappers since last week.
