Gunmen kidnap twins, one other in Ekiti, demand N22m
Unknown gunmen on Saturday abducted three men including a set of twins along the Aramoko, Efon Road in Ekiti State.
The victims are the Olowoafara twins – Taiwo and Kehinde – and the General Secretary of Christ’s School Alumni Association, Ado Ekiti, Mr. Ayo Oladele, who were said to be traveling along the road at different times.
A family source, who said abductors of the twins had contacted the family, disclosed that they were demanding N6million for each of the set of twins totaling N12million.
In the same vein, the Oladele family said the gunmen who seized their member were requesting N10million before he could regain freedom.
The family members of the three victims said they could not ascertain the location their relations had been taken to.
The notoriety of Aramoko, Erio/Efon Road, Iwaraja axis for criminals such as armed robbers and kidnappers led to the drafting of the military to the area to comb the forest last year for the criminals.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu, who said the incidents had been reported to the police, said the law enforcement agency was making every necessary deployment to ensure that the victims regained freedom.
Ikechukwu said: “We are doing our best to ensure we locate them and set them free. Our concern is to free them and also arrest these evil men and bring them to justice. We are doing our job since the police are aware of the development”.
