Gunmen kill Imo businessman
Gunmen have reportedly killed a businessman, Ugochukwu Oguine, in at Anara in the Isaiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, throwing residents into panic.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the businessman was killed around just before midnight on Monday.
Oguine was said to have been shot before the Assemblies of God Church on Okigwe/Owerri expressway drove to Bonimas petroleum station in Anara, near his house, before giving up the ghost.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“He was shot before midnight at the spot before the Assemblies of God church on Okigwe/Owerri Road but he drove to Bonimas petroleum station close to his house where he died. He was confirmed dead at the hospital by the doctors,”
When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said that the state commissioner of police had ordered investigation into the killing.
Ikeokwu, said that the CP had dispatched operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad and Anti- Kidnapping Unit of the command to the scene of the murder .
He said that it was expected that the operatives would apprehend the fleeing gunmen.
The police spokesperson said,
“We are aware of the killing but the CP has dispatched operatives of Special Anti- Robbery Squad and Anti- Kidnapping Unit of the command to the crime scene. We will not rest until we apprehend the fleeing murderers.”
