A 25-year-old man, Yushau Aminu, is standing trial for allegedly sodomising his host’s younger brother in Katsina.

The accused, who hailed from Kamboso Local Government Area of Kano State, reportedly committed the act during his visit to his host identified as Yandiyu at Jabiri quarters in Funtua, Katsina State.

Yandiyu, a woman, had asked Aminu to pass the night in a room occupied by the victim.

The victim, who reported the incident at the Central Police station, Funtua, alleged that at about 2 am while he was asleep, Aminu allegedly “criminally removed” his trousers and had sexual intercourse with him through the anus.

Aminu is standing trial on a one-count charge of unnatural offence contrary to Section 284 of the Penal Code.

Police Prosecutor, Insp. Sani Ado, told a Katsina senior magistrate’s court on Tuesday where Aminu was arraigned that he was still awaiting legal advice in respect of the case and requested for a new date.

Senior Magistrate Hajiya Fadile Dikko, who presided at the court, adjourned the matter till October 18, 2018 and ordered Aminu who is on bail to appear before her on that day.

Meanwhile, one Imrana Haruna of Bayala village in the Kafur LGA of Katsina State, is also to appear before Hajiya Dikko for criminal trespass, criminal force and rape.

Haruna, 25, was alleged to have on September 22 entered the room of his neighbour’s wife and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

The victim’s husband, Musa Idris, reported the incident at Kafur Police station.

Haruna has been remanded in prison custody.
