His plea was not taken and the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, remanded him in police custody and adjourned the case until October 22 for mention.
Earlier, Police Prosecutor Maria Dauda said the accused committed the offence on Sept. 26 at 2.30 p.m. at School Gate, Lakowe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
He told the court that the teenager murdered another teenager, Tobi Odeyemi, 15, by stabbing him in the chest with a thick iron stitching awl used in sewing shoes.
“The accused had accosted a friend of Odeyemi and accused him of failing to pay for the slippers he sewed for him.
“Odeyemi joked about it and it angered Shuiabu who brought out the needle [Stitching awl ] and stabbed the accused on the chest,” Dauda said.
