He stays on top doing nothing, Nigerians react to Buhari’s plan to travel for three weeks
President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom has again raised eyebrows among Nigerians on social media.
Reports emerged over the weekend that Buhari would be visiting Riyadh in Saudi Arabia today (Monday), as if that was not enough, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina announced on Monday that the president would be heading to the United Kingdom from Saudi Arabia ‘on a private visit’.
The president plans to spend three weeks outside the country and would return on November 17th, the statement said.
The trips are coming a few days after his arrival from Russia where he attended the Russia-Africa Summit and Economic Forum in Sochi.
The reports of Buhari’s plan to be out of the country for another three weeks have sparked a series of reactions on social media as Nigerians express concerns over the president’s frequent trips.
Some social media users wondered if the president creates time to attend to the myriads of issues confronting the nation.
A Twitter user, Olubunmi Abiri, described Buhari as another sex style who takes his position at the top doing nothing.
He tweeted:
Always flying abroad, Buhari is another sex style in Nigeria, just stay on top without doing nothing

Another Twitter user suggested that the president’s office should be relocated into the Presidential jet since he spends more time there than in his Aso Villa office.
@ehcuno tweeted:
“This man should have his main office inside aeroplane please.”
Idifu Idinla @Idifu tweeted:
“Buhari surpassed the record of Ajala & Colombia put together, must be be everywhere? Why does he have ministers & others? Even are ambassadors can handle most of these things,rather than waste tax payers money because it cost Nigerians a lot to pay for Buhari’s travels.”

Always on the move. From Russia to Saudi Arabia and to the next destination…. I think we all understood the type of president we have. Thank God the supreme court has decided to start the hearing of his case.
The court should pls do the needful so that this aberration can end.— Segun Adeoye (@Seagad01) October 27, 2019
