HE WAS TOO GREEDY! Kidnapper collects N1.3 million ransom, gets arrested while waiting to receive extra N300, 000
The greed of a notorious kidnapper, Sunday Okorie, has led to his waterloo after he caught while trying to collect an extra N300,000 as ransom.
The kidnapper belongs to a gang who abducted two entertainers – Ugo Stevenson and Izunna Obiakor – in Owerri, Imo State and collected N1.3 million ransom from them.
The duo were released but their car, a Toyota Highlander, which they were riding in when they were kidnapped was not released.
Stevenson, who said they were freed on Sunday, explained that their abductors blindfolded them and dropped them off in the Okuku area of the state, but Izunna’s Toyota Highlander was not released.
Okorie, one of the kidnappers, however, met his waterloo, after he reached out to them to pay N300,000 for the collection of the car.
The duo accepted the offer and a meeting was scheduled. The duo contacted security operatives who set up a trap for Okorie.
Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad picked him up while he was waiting for the men to bring the money.
