It was double honour for Chinese diver He Zi on Sunday as she walked away with a golden ring in addition to her silver medal.  

Fellow Chinese diver Qin Kai surprised He Zi just after the medal ceremony when he approached her by the poolside and proposed.

Qin dropped down to one knee and held up a small red box with a ring. He then slipped the ring on her finger and handed her a rose contained in a glass case.

He Zi gave Quin a big hug to the cheering of the spectators as they walked away from the poolside.

This is the second marriage proposal at the Rio Olympics as volunteer Marjorie Edna proposed to her girlfriend, Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo, on the pitch last week after a game.
