Katsina: Hoodlums cut off victim’s wrist

Three hoodlums are now in police custody in Katsina for allegedly cutting off the wrist of one Ibrahim Bello with a cutlass.

The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident on Friday, identifying the suspects as Nasiru Ali, 25, Nafi’u Mu’azu, 20 and Abdulsamdu Ashiru, 23.

He said the miscreants popularly known as Kauraye were arrested shortly after they attacked the victim on Wednesday at Kofar Yandaka Quarters in Katsina.

He added that Bello was rushed to Orthopaedic Hospital, Katsina, where he is currently receiving treatment.

He said “The command succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of Kauraye terrorising Katsina metropolitan area. Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they attacked one Ibrahim Bello aged 23 years of Mallamawa village, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State at Kofar Yandaka Quarters and cut off his wrist with a cutlass.

“In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.”

Isah also disclosed that the command recovered one AK-47 rifle from a suspected bandit, Tukur Atti, who reportedly died of gunshot wounds when he and his members attacked Yakasai village last Saturday.
